Calories, Not Protein or Carbs, Are Key to Weight Loss
Interesting study. It seems that both high protein and high carb diets are equally effective as long as the calorie intake is watched as well. The one difference is that high protein diets tend to show weight loss improvement right off the bat before leveling out to the same as high carb diets.
My run with the Dukan diet is to shake my body and its metabolism up a bit. I’ve never been one to eat a lot of protein. I think the combo of meats and the carbs I was eating tended to make my stomach go a bit nuts. So far, completely eliminating the carbs has curbed that particular issue.
Anyway, the article is an interesting read!
