reneehendricks replied to your post: I gave a sort of warning the other day, but here’s another one:

You and me both! I loooooove Christmas time. It’s all about Rudolph and my trains and massive decorating. I’m already head planning the reconstruction of my dining room to accommodate for Christmas :D

I know it’s not even halfway through October yet, but I am already so excited XD

For me it’s the colours - either Victorian reds and greens, or modern blues, purples and silver XD And the tree, and the lights, and the cards and the gifts (I love scouring shops and the internet and my own imagination to find or make gifts for people!)

And because we’re an atheist family, it’s always been far more about family and getting together and eating good food and moaning about the boring telly and showing each other what we all got and so on XD

Unfortunately, I’m back at home with my parents again this year, so I have to acquiesce to Mom’s decorating tastes (pretty much Victorian greens and reds anyway, so all is good) rather than implement my own :D

[Though, stupidly, because I’m doing my damndest to get to Japan through JET, I’ve already been considering what I’d do for Christmas in Japan next year… Am I mad? Probably.]

We’re atheist as well. For me it’s my yearly items (my guy has purchased a lot of Rudolph items for me over the past 6 years) being out, the trains running, the house smelling of vanilla and baked cookies, and my kids helping me pull out our Christmas special DVDs. I love giving and sharing…hoping for snow (but not too much - just a dusting) and being with my guy and kids :D

As I decorate, I’ll be sure to share pix!
