Love My Day and Life

Fun stuff today! My guy is fixing up our walk-in closet, I cleaned up the bunny cage as well as played with the little guys, my oldest is here and will be doing fun things to my hair, middle gal and son went to the local family fun center with their dad and brought back tons of stuff (magnifying glasses, rubber balls, whoopie cushions and a tiny bit of candy), *and* I made dinner for the guy :D

My guy chased me around for a better part of the day tickling me. I *love* when he’s in this sort of mood! We talk a lot - about so many things and we have so much in common. But, sometimes, it’s just perfect to be silly and let go of the day-to-day stuff and just act foolish. He’s the first person I think of when I wake up and the last person I think of before going to sleep. Whenever I have an idea or deep thought, he’s the first person I tell.

If I believed in the soul and “soul mates”, he’d fit the bill. As I don’t, the closest I can come up with is that he’s the love of my life. The yin to my yang. He completes me in every possible way and I can’t imagine my life without him.

Under Pressure

It’s amazing what you can find out about yourself and what you are capable of when you are placed in a stressful situation.

I’ve recently switched careers - from web development to freelance writing - and this past week has shown me what I can do when faced with deadlines on top of nasty ongoing estate issues.  Previously, I had thought I was only capable of writing five, maybe six articles in a day.  Due to having to bump out a deadline by one day as I have a deposition looming tomorrow, I found out this afternoon that I can easily write ten to twelve articles without running into any “writer’s block”.

I’m not saying this will be an ongoing trend for me.  It’s just nice to know I can perform under pressure.

After this week, it’ll be smooth sailing.

Comfort Food For The Cold Season

With the temperatures finally falling here in Western Washington state, I’m finding myself drawn to warm comfort foods.  After officially turning on the heater two days ago, my breakfasts have consisted of brown sugar and cinnamon oatmeal and my lunches are either clam chowder or tomato soup.

My kids are also craving similar foods - hot chocolate, mini pancakes.  Gone are the light fruit-filled breakfasts and lunches.

Amazing how the seasonal changes can guide what you eat.  What do you tend to gravitate toward eating during the colder months?

My Youngest Is Sick

Normally this isn’t an event but he has a long-standing record of not missing a day of school since starting school - even with asthma.  Today he has a temperature of 102 (after taking some meds).  My poor, sweet little guy :(

**Update** His temperature is down to 97, he threw up and is having diarrhea issues.  On the plus side, he said the two aforementioned events have made his head stop hurting and he doesn’t feel nearly as bad as he did this morning.

**Update #2** Temp still down (for now).  He’s really listless and very compliant (not at all like himself - usually constantly on the run and annoying the crap out of his sisters).  Speaking of his sisters, they went to the store to bring back a little treat for him as they feel so badly for him.  After all, he’s the last one to get sick in this house.
